Svinjak

This famous mountain with a pointed, pyramid-shaped summit, which has earned it the nickname of the Bovec Matterhorn, offers breath-taking views of the Soča and Bovec.

After 25 minutes, the marked trail that starts in Kal–Koritnica branches off to the panoramic beauty spot and the Čelo open-air museum. The trail that continues straight ahead follows the rises and falls of the long ridge and can get quite steep and precipitous, particularly close to the summit. There is a small-scale model of the Aljaž Tower on the summit of Svinjak.

Ascent to Svinjak from the village Kal–Koritnica:

Starting point: Kal-Koritnica (460 m), 46,3369°N / 13,5783°E
Estimated walking time: 3 hours 15 min
Difficulty: partly moderate marked trail
Height difference: 1193 m
